Temu’s vision is rooted in empowering everyday consumers by delivering affordable, high-quality products through a transparent, customer-first marketplace. By removing intermediaries and focusing on supply chain efficiency, Temu seeks to create a seamless, global shopping experience that doesn't compromise on cost or quality. Their goal was to expand their app’s presence across diverse regions and drive users from install to long-term value generation via frequent orders.

The Challenge

While Temu's marketplace model is attractive, standing out in the highly saturated global e-commerce market posed significant challenges. The brand needed to:

  • Drive high volumes of non-organic installs that converted to purchases.
  • Target and personalize campaigns across 69 distinct countries, each with unique user behaviors and market expectations.
  • Maintain strong ROAS and revenue efficiency while scaling fast.
  • Optimize media placements across DSPs, SSPs, and various ad formats for both iOS and Android platforms.

Our Approach

1. Geo-Targeted Global Expansion
Z2A launched localized campaigns in 69 countries, including markets like the U.S., UK, Germany, France, Russia, Qatar, and Poland. Each campaign was customized by language, cultural context, and consumer behavior, ensuring that Temu’s messaging resonated across diverse audiences.

2. Performance-Based Optimization
Rather than optimizing for installs alone, we focused on user actions from install > first purchase > repeat orders, tracking and scaling audiences that demonstrated high lifetime value.

3. Multi-Format Ad Delivery
The campaigns included rewarded video ads, interstitials, banners, and native creatives, each A/B tested and placed in environments most aligned with Temu’s high-intent shopper base.

4. Programmatic Buying with DSPs & SSPs
We used smart bidding and lookalike modeling through DSPs and SSPs to reach high-conversion audiences, consistently refining segments to maximize campaign ROI.

Temu’s monthly downloads increased by over 3,700% within four months of campaign launch.
